The
Caroline of Brunswick
The Caroline of Brunswick is undoubtedly the most glamorous
"alternative" pub in town. With its leopard-print
boudoir, ornate chandeliers, and saucy leather pictures,
it's a far cry from the usual grungy dive. And with
its range of organic wines, real ales, and a large selection
of ciders (seven at the last count!), there is surely
no more decadent a venue for a bit of pre-Guerilla Rocks
quiz action. True to form, the Caroline's quiz isn't
your typical Q&A session. You'll need to be a dab
hand at making naughty Plasticine models, drawing outrageous
pictures, and even counting sweets in a jar if you want
to win the cash and booze prizes on offer each week.
Get here early for a decent table; the action starts
at 8:30 every Tuesday night. |

The
Hobgoblin
Undoubtedly a firm favourite
with the alternative crowd, the hobgoblin features friendly
staff and a selection of ales, along with a lovely large
beer garden with a sheltered area for you naughty smokers
;) It has long been a hub of Brightons rock community
and continues to do so, now under new ownership. The
venue also does some great band nights, often free entry,
very good for the punk scene. |

The
Druids Arms
Friendly staff and a relaxed
atmosphere can be found in this small but popular little
boozer. Located conveniently near to both the Caroline
of Brunswick and The Hobgoblin, this is a worthwhile
stopping point on any pub crawl. The pub also features
bands and DJs on select nights. They host a great open
mic night on a thursday too.

(Last
but not least) The Pav Tav
For those who can't be bothered
to walk much once they have started drinking, you can
spend the first part of your evening in the downstairs
bar of the venue! Always busy and always cheap, its
a good way to start off the eve mingling with your mates
and enjoying a cold beer or two... or three... etc! |
